Editions De Parfums Frédéric Malle – Portrait of a Lady

A masterpiece created by Dominique Ropion in collaboration with Frédéric Malle, Portrait of a Lady has received numerous awards over the years, it is a classic yet atypical rose perfume that revolutionises the idea of roses.  The genie behind this captivating perfume is Dominque Ropion, one of the most world-renowned perfumers of our time, he was recognised by the IFF as “Master Perfumer” and has been a dear friend and collaborator with Frédéric Malle for over 25 years.  Portrait of a Lady is one of perfumes that came to fruition from this friendship: at the fore is an exuberant dose of Turkish rose – 400 flowers per 100ml bottle, no less.  Beneath lies a heart of patchouli imbued with sandalwood and frankincense.  An accord of clove, blackcurrant and raspberry binds the perfume together with a final, distinctive brushstroke.  A perfume of precision and perfection, it is a tribute to femininity in its innumerable shapes and sizes, and to the unique charm of being a woman.

Editions De Parfums Frédéric Malle – Eau de Magnolia

Created by Carlo Benaïm – the first Master perfumer recognised by IFF in 2013 – Eau de Magnolia is refreshing citrusy wonder.  Breathe in the magnolia of early spring with an enchanting touch of citrus.  Unlike other white flower perfumes that exude opulence, Carlos Benaïm’s Eau de Magnolia balances the bloom’s richness with a citrusy freshness.  Carried by a woody undercurrent, at the perfume’s heart is a magnified citric balance of bergamot, lemon and grapefruit that tunnels into focus towards darker notes of oak moss and patchouli.  An olfactory representation of sunshine and its shadow.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian – À La Rose

Indulge your senses with a feast of springtime roses.  Two varieties of rose bequeath this eau de parfum with the radiance and richness of their petals: Centifolia roses from Grasse and Damascena roses from Bulgaria.  The fragrance’s top notes reveal 150 Damascena roses from Bulgaria in the form of an essential oil that radiates a sense of liveliness, melded with a playful blend of pear and lychee, followed by 250 Centifolia Roses from Grasse (May Rose) in the form of an absolute that produces a very floral base note with honeyed, carnal accents.  À la Rose has the crisp tenderness of rose petals, a whimsical free-spirited style and an elegance that radiates femininity.
